President Hope and Change dumps on the Tea Parties

I know I'm getting to this one lil story a lil late but that is what one week in VEGAS will do to ya.

Last week the President of the United States made his most direct comment about those Tea party protests that sprung up a couple of weeks ago that he knew nothing about in advance.........

Those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I'm not very popular, and you see folks waving tea bags around, Obama said, “let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.”

First off, if he is referring to FOX news they love you Mr President as I'm sure is borne out by the ratings lead they have over CNN and MSNBC.

Second, stop acting as though a plan you implemented is going to create anything but stagflation and devaluation of the U.S. dollar. If this is not so please cite one example of massive SPENDING and BORROWING and PRINTING of money on a never seen before scale has worked.

I'll wait right here........................................................

Thought so.

As for Social Security , the last shot we had at saving that was in 2005 when Pres Bush attempted something but his own party ran under the covers and hid. Just kiss SS goodbye people. The numbers will never line up, no matter how many times you erase them and try again with your etch-a-sketch calculator.

Just please keep the country safe in the meantime Mr President. Hopefully we can start to elect some adults with vision and guts and not so much style with no substance beginning in 2010!!!

Reagan vs Obama Round 2

To return to a theme I'm going to harp on until even Chris Matthews recognizes it is the fact that this IS NOT the worst economy since the GREAT DEPRESSION. As I posted earlier it's distant second

As stated in the latest analysis of the last 6 Presidents economic policy's President Reagan REALLY inherited a TERD of an economy from failed home builder Jimmy Carter

From Today's Washington Times

President Reagan inherited an economic situation even worse than the one President Obama has. When Reagan took office, the economy had been in recession for about a year, the unemployment rate was almost identical to today's, but the labor force participation rate was smaller, and inflation was out of control. At the time, the newspapers were filled with stories about the "worst economy since the Great Depression" - which, unlike today, was true, and the economic establishment seemed to be bereft of ideas of what to do.

The fact of the matter is we have recent history to go by in this time of uncertainty. President Obama chose a path that President Reagan DID NOT, Raising Taxes to Tax cuts. We will find out what happens in 12 months but for those who study HISTORY we know what will happen.

President Doom and Gloom

The President of the United States by the prestige of his office has a big Microphone or Bully Pulpit if you will to educate the citizens of this grand republic. Generally it is used to inspire or to comfort and guide the nation through turbulent times.

Sometimes it can used though to scare the hell out of people to convince them to support a crap sandwich of a stimulus pkg.

From today's Wall Street Journal editorial.....

In his remarks, every gloomy statistic on the economy becomes a harbinger of doom. As he tells it, today's economy is the worst since the Great Depression. Without his Recovery and Reinvestment Act, he says, the economy will fall back into that abyss and may never recover.

WOW, never recover, that sure is scary! I mean I thought September 11 aftermath was bad. I think after we had 6 1/2 yrs of growth after that terrible event though, this country can trudge through anything that is throw at us!!!

As the article goes on to show right here that this downturn is no worse that the downturn that occurred from 1979 to 1982 and was reversed with TAX CUTS brought on with the leadership of Ronald Reagan. No 1 trillion bag of goodies to turn it around back then.

But than come to think of it, we had REAL leadership back than, not the chicken little sky is falling variety we seem to have fallen into today.
